Practice History

Oral Surgery of Erie, PC became a legal corporate entity in 2006. In 2005 the merger of Dr. Alonge’s solo practice with Drs. Simmons and King was initially named Simmons, King & Alonge Oral Surgery.

In 1964 Dr. Elmer J. Stevens started Stevens Oral Surgery. He was joined by his brother Richard D. Stevens in 1967. ­ Dr. A. Paul King joined Stevens Oral Surgery in 1973 and subsequently Stevens and King Oral Surgery was the prominent Oral Surgery practice in Erie for over three decades. After the retirements of “Dr. Elmer” in 1989 and “Dr. Richard” in 1999 Dr. Matthew E. Simmons joined Dr. King in 2001 after practicing in Maryland for several years. A native of northwestern Pennsylvania, Dr. John L. Alonge returned in 1994 after practicing eleven years in the U.S. Air Force Dental Corps. When the opportunity arose to relocate both practices Drs. Alonge, Simmons and King merged their talents and staff to our present location.
